My Top 5 Daily Beauty Products

A lot of you ask me what my skin care routine is so I decided to compile a list of the products I use on a daily basis. I wanna start off by saying I don’t use makeup every day. Maybe I would if taking makeup OFF at the end of the day was an easier process. But it’s too much of a task for me, especially when I get home late and want to do nothing besides take a shower and sleep. So I won’t be sharing any of my favorite makeup products in this list!

Instead, I’ll be listing products that have consistently worked for me over a trial period of at least a month. My routine changes often based on how my skin reacts to new products (I haven’t found the perfect everything yet) but these products have been holding out and don’t cause me any irritation.

My skin:
combination oily/dry | sensitive | dermatographia

1. Trader Joe’s Rose Water Facial Toner

This has quickly become my second favorite toner (nothing beats Thayers Witch Hazel Rose Petal Toner!) on the market for two reasons: one – I have sensitive, combination skin and this toner is light but effective. I use it after washing my face and before applying serums or makeup. My t-zone is oil central and I’ve noticed that since using this toner my face doesn’t look like it’s melting midday. I also don’t wake up with dry patches on my cheeks when I use it at night. The second reason I love this toner is the price. I get 4oz for only $3.99!!! That’s a BIG steal. I still have half the bottle left and it’s been almost two months of using it at least twice a day.

2. Aquaphor

Might be a strange product on a beauty products list but if you know, you know. This is my secret to soft lips and healing small cuts (that are common because my skin is so sensitive) fast. I use it twice a day on my lips after brushing my teeth and haven’t had splits (those deep cuts in the middle of chapped lips that hurt like hell and bleed if you smile too hard. EW) in over a year. I have a habit of brushing my lips (GENTLY) after I brush my teeth and using Aquaphor prevents them from getting sore or feeling raw.

3. Jamaican Black Castor Oil

I know this is a favorite for a lot of people as well. It’s been a beauty staple of mine for a few years now. I use this thing on my scalp and skin and it has easily replaced creams and lotions that tend to be watered down and over perfumed. The one I’m currently using is by the brand Jamaican Mango & Lime in the scent ‘Coconut’. There are many scents to choose from but this one was my favorite out of them all at the beauty supply store. One thing I must mention is that because this oil is so thick, I always mix it with water. I never apply it directly to sensitive areas like my face without first diluting it and I don’t recommend using it on your face if you are acne prone.

4. Facial Serums

This is a new addition to my routine as I never used face serums/oils before this year. I received a sample size bottle of Amore Pacific’sBotanical Radiance Oil‘ from a Sephora purchase in April and decided to try it out after researching them a bit. Turns out that many serums are packed with ingredients such as flower seed oil and Vitamins C and E that are really good at preventing dryness and improving your skin’s overall elasticity. As much as I loved using my Amore Pacific oil, babyyyyy those prices were NOT affordable (for me). You can look them up yourself. Nope! Instead I found this 4ml bottle of BiossanceSqualane + Vitamin C Rose Oil‘ that came with a ‘Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel‘. You can get both as a free sample set from their website and pay only $5 for s&h. Steal.

5. The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter

I love this stuff! If you’ve ever used anything from The Body Shop you’d know their products are usually high quality. I like all of their body butters but ‘Coconut‘ is my favorite. I use it as a hand lotion throughout the day and it leaves them feeling and smelling great.

Let me know how these products worked for you if you’ve ever used them!
